What if food prices had followed house prices?

Four pints of milk, a whole roasting chicken and a kilo of potatoes, priced as if they had risen with house prices in your area since the starting year, beside what they actually cost.

The ONS item-price observations end in January 2025 (published 19 February 2025); the last full annual averages are for 2024. The series were re-released on 16 September 2026, but that release did not add later prices. Hypothetical prices are calculations, not observed supermarket prices.
